It is used for the purpose of protecting and controlling the load by operating/stopping the load such as the motor by ON/OFF of the magnetic contactor. When an overcurrent of a certain level or more flows to the load by the overload relay, it detects this and turns off the operation power of the magnetic contactor to stop the load. A magnetic contactor and an overload relay are used in combination, and this is called a magnetic switch (MS).
